We partner with schools in Douglas County and the surrounding area to get kids excited about books and reading. We believe, as Mary Ellen Chase said, “There is no substitute for books in the life of a child.” Books are a doorway to knowledge that open the imagination. Educator Discounts and Bulk Discounts
We value our teachers and school staff. Show us your school ID and get 10% off any regular purchase. It’s that simple.
Bulk / Quantity discounts can be applied to anything school related: classroom project or event, library stock or other special event. Contact us about your project and we will work with you to make it happen.
Reading Lists
Do you have a suggested or required reading list, either during the school year or for summer reading? You can place a bulk order for your class. Click to access the form and to let us know your needs.
Young Adult and Kids Book Clubs
Book clubs for 8 - 12 years old and 13 - 18 years. Kids can set the agenda and choose the books to read and discuss. Clubs meet once a month in the store and are free to join! Contact us to learn more: 303-357-8240 or Email us.
Authors
We are open to reaching out to authors your students might be interested in hearing from. In-store events can enhance student participation and engage them in new ways. Let us know if your class or school would like to set up a presentation. There is no cost to the school other than a commitment to purchase a minimum of 25 books.

Art Shows
We love art! We are open to hosting a class, grade or school art show at Books Are Awesome. Contact us about your event to learn more about what we can do.
Annual Bookmark Contest
We hold an annual bookmark contest at Books Are Awesome. Bookmarks can be any size and format. They can be dropped off at the store for entry. If your class would like to hold its own contest and display the entries in our store we’d be happy to work with you. Contact us to set up the contest. We’ll list it on our website under events to let others know to stop in.
Bookmark contest entries need to include the following information: Student Name, Teacher, Age, Grade, School.
